Thai-based low-cost carrier (LCC) Thai Lion Air and Travelport, the world’s leading travel commerce platform, have announced on 6th September that they’ve made a content agreement. TLA will deploy Travelport’s Rich Content and Branding Solution, which will enable the member of the Indonesian Lion Air Group to present its fares and content in a more visual way. As a result of the partnership TLA’s branded fares and auxiliary content will now become available to travel agents using Travelport’s travel commerce platform.

Speaking about the new agreement the company has made, TLA Managing Director, Captain Darsito Hendroseputro said:

We are pleased to embark on this partnership with Travelport. It is important for us to boost our brand presence, especially to the international market. We look forward to working with Travelport to increase the availability of our flight options to travel consumers. This partnership is part of our ongoing growth strategy, to deliver the best value to consumers and lays the foundation for us to continue working together in the future.

Vice President for the Asia Pacific region and Global Sales Strategy and Air Commerce at Travelport, Damian Hickey commented:

Today’s announcement marks our ongoing commitment and investment, in the Thai domestic travel market.  We are delighted that Thai Lion Air recognizes the value of our Travel Commerce Platform and the outreach that we can provide.  We are excited for the future with Thai Lion Air.

Agencies connected with Travelport will now have real-time access to TLA’s fares and inventory, all around the globe. This will, for instance, allow them to offer more content and better options for travellers coming to Thailand.

TLA is the 3rd largest LCC in Thailand. It operates 20 destinations in seven countries in Southeast Asia.

International visits to Thailand are on the rise at the moment. For the first six months of this year, between January and July, the country recorded over 20.4 million international passengers, about 4.47% more in comparison with the same period last year, said the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Before Thai Lion Air, another member of the Lion Air Group signed a partnership with Travelport – Malaysian Malindo Air.
