Buriram Airport is a small domestic airport located in the Satuek district in Buriram, Thailand. It is served by two airlines - Nok Air and Thai AirAsia - linking passengers daily to Don Muang Airport in Bangkok.
The airport has enjoyed a boost in tourist arrivals, said to be supported by the success of its homegrown football team and its stadium, as well as the Buriram International Circuit motor racing held there.
The growth in passenger volume prompted the government in 2017 to shell out 140 million baht for the expansion of its facilities, while for 2019, the Department of Airports announced an investment of 700 million baht for the construction of a second passenger terminal. Once complete, the facility is expected to more-than-double passenger capacity to 1.7 million annually from the 750,000 at present.
Nok Air and and Thai AirAsia both provide transfer services. You will need to book a transfer service in advance prior to your date of arrival or departure to avoid inconvenience.
Nok Air’s pick-up and drop-off points are at the White Day Hotel in Nai Mueang, with daily departures to the airport at 6am, 2pm, and 5pm. Passengers are required to check-in 30 minutes before departure. Failure to do so will result in unguaranteed transport service.
Meanwhile, Thai AirAsia offers a shuttle bus service between Buriram Airport and Best Western Royal Hotel. Passengers can opt to book their transfer service prior to their flight or once they arrived at the airport. You can also arrange with the bus driver for your return trip.
Taking a cab from and to the airport is the most convenient transport option. A taxi transfer desk is available inside the airport offering city transfers to passengers.
Can rental services are offered as you land at Buriram Airport. This may be one of the most convenient transport options as it lets you travel to your desired destinations hassle-free and at your most convenient time. Rental car service providers at the airport are Europcar, holidaycar.com, rentalcars.com, and Sixt.
Buriram Airport is 32.3 kilometers away from the city. Travelling between the two points takes no more than 30 minutes.
Short-term and long-term parking is on offer by companies Justpark and ParkVia at Buriram Airport. You can choose from different types of parking such as short-term or long-term parking, daily parking, valet parking, and sleep-park-fly parking.
