Thai Summer Airways is a new budget carrier that plans to take advantage of the booming tourism of Thailand. It was established in 2018 under a joint venture between Thai and Chinese investors.
Thai Summer Airways is based in Bangkok, Thailand but its operations base is located at U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport.
According to its website, the carrier will focus on building a network of routes to connect passengers from and to East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, as part of its vision to become one of the leading international airlines offering comfortable service.
Thai Summer Airways is set to operate in January 2020 using the Boeing 737-800 fleet which is capable to fly up to 189 passengers with the one-class layout, and up to 162 passengers with the two-class format.
According to the Bangkok Post, the airline is planning to offer charter flights in the early stages of its operations. Specific destinations have yet to be announced.
