‘Nok’ means bird in Thai, which is a symbol of air travel, freedom, and friendliness.
Nok Air is Thailand’s low-cost airline that operates mostly out of Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok. Thai Airways is one of the major shareholders of this airline.
Nok Air was established on 10 February 2004 and started its operation on July 23, 2004. Their first international service of was on 31 May 2007, with daily flights to Bangalore.
Nor Air has a fleet of 23 aircraft, which includes Boeing 737-800, ATR 72-500 and Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 NextGen.
Boeing 737s are outfitted with 189 seats. The ATR 72-500s have a seating capacity for 66 passengers whereas Q400 NextGens can accommodate 86 passengers and have a wider cabin space which ensures more comfortable flights.
Nok Air flies to a total of 36 destinations within Thailand and around Asia.
Nok Air's Economy cabin class offers comfortable leather seats, free drinking water and free seat selection.
Passengers can choose to upgrade to Premium Economy, called Nok Smile Plus. This gives additional privileges, such as 10 kg of extra baggage, priority check-in (at some airports) and premium seat selection.
Passengers are allowed one carry-on baggage of 7kg on both international and domestic flight, dimensions of which should be less than 56 x 36 x 23 cm.
The maximum weight for any individual item is 30kg. All flights apart from Nok Lite Tickets include some sort of check in allowance. If you need more then this will be charged according to Nok’s baggage allowance rules.
Passengers on a domestic flight can check-in online, but this privilege is not available for international flight passengers.
You can check in to a domestic flight one hour before departure. You’ll need to enter your Surname and flight number and then follow the online process..
For domestic flights, check-in at the airport opens two hours before departure and closes 45 minutes before, whereas for international flights, it opens three hours before departure and closes one hour before.

Nok Air has a frequent flyer programme known as Nok Fan Club. Members can earn miles that can be exchanged for discounts and rewards.
You’ll get 1 point for every 5 baht you spend on Airfare which have to be used within 36 months.
Members can transfer their Nok Points to family and friends. You can choose a maximum of 3 members to transfer the points. The minimum transfer is 500 points.
You are allowed to transfer 5000 points daily and 15000 points monthly.

Nok Sky status is the entry-level membership and is open to everyone aged 2 years and above.
