Budget carrier Thai Lion Air is ferrying Thai nationals stuck in mainland China back to Thailand for free.
On Thursday, Thai Lion Air said that the repatriation will occur until Saturday February 8 from Chinese territories where transportation is open.
“Passengers will be given a thorough examination as determined by the airline as it cooperates with government agencies on the matter,” they said.
To use of the service, Thai nationals will need to register and must present a Thai passport. They must also prove that they have no travel history to Wuhan City where the deadly coronavirus originated.
Thai Lion Air said anyone interested contact +66 2529 9955 from 6 a.m. to midnight to register.
To recall, China is suffering from a new virus outbreak that has already claimed hundreds of lives and infected thousands of others.
At present, the Wuhan City in Hubei was ordered on lockdown in efforts to contain the virus and prevent from further spreading globally.
