Thai Lion Air, a Thai low-cost airline, operates with Thai partners as an associate company of Lion Air of Indonesia. The carrier is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand and the head office is in the Don Mueang District, Bangkok. 

Being a low-cost carrier, Thai Lion Air provides best-in-class products and services. Their first flight was on 4 December 2013 on the Bangkok to Chiang Mai route, and full services were started the next day. 

Planes

Thai Lion Air has a fleet of 34 Airbus’s, which includes 3 Airbus A330-300s, 11 Boeing 737-800s, 17 Boeing 737-900ERs and 3 Boeing 737 MAX 9s.

The Airbus A330-300 has extra legroom and reclining leather seats with seat width of 24.5” and seat pitches of 60” for Premium Economy class and seat width of 19” and seat pitches of 31” for Economy class. It utilizes the fly-by-wire digital control system.

The Boeing is a wider seat aircraft, which is suitable for travelers wanting both comfort and value. The aircraft even has sky interior lighting system, which means optionally blue mood lighting for the ceiling lights can be added for a ‘sky interior look.’ The 737-800 has reclining leather seats with seat width of 17” and seat pitches of 31” for Economy class.

The 737-900ER is outfitted with a new pair of exit doors and a flat rear-pressure bulkhead. The aircraft has a maximum capacity of 215 passengers in a single-class layout. It has reclining leather seats with seat width of 17” and seat itches of 29” for Economy class.

The airline flies to a total of 47 destinations in several countries, including Australia, India, Indonesia, Thailand, China, South Korea, Bangladesh, Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau, Philippines, Singapore, and Myanmar.

Economy

Thai Lion Baggage Allowances

Passengers of Thai Lion Airlines are entitled to one main piece of cabin baggage that should not exceed 7kg and no larger than 40 x 30 x 20 centimetres. Passengers are allowed an additional personal item such as a handbag and laptop bag.

International Flights

  • Premium Economy Class – 30kg with two pieces

Payment Methods

Passengers can pay with any of the following payment methods:

  • Direct Debit: The passengers can make direct debit with the SCB, KTB, UOB, TMB, BBL, and Krungsr banks.
  • Counter Payment: Passengers can complete a counter payment at Tesco Lotus, True Money, Pay post, M Pay, Big C, Counter Service, and Family Mart. 
  • ATM Payment: The passengers can also make an ATM payment at SCB, KTB, KBANK, KRUNGSRI, and BBL.
  • E-Wallet: The airline also allows the passengers to pay via E-Wallet, including AliPay, Union Pay, WeChat Pay, and Rabbit Line Pay.
  • Credit Card Payment: Payments can also be made using credit cards.

Frequent Flyer Program

The airline has a frequent flyer program called Lion Air Passport Club. As soon as you book a flight with The Lion Air, you can join their frequent flyer program and start earning Lion Miles. Passengers receive regular updates and other benefits for a being a Lion Air Passport Member.

Lion Seat Selection

With this option, you can select a seat with your family or window and aisle seat with your friends and family. If you don’t choose lion seat Selection you’ll be allocated a seat number at check-in.

 Thai Lion Air Travel Insurance offers two types of coverage –

One way - This is for those who are travelling only one-way flight with Lion Air. The insurance will cover you from the departure airport until you've arrived at the destination airport.

Round Trip - If you are travelling for a round trip with Lion Air, the company’s insurance will cover you from when you are checked in at the departure airport, during the trip and until you return to your airport.

Prepaid Baggage

Lion Air Group offers a great additional service: Prepaid Baggage. It allows passengers to get a more affordable price by prepaying for baggage at least 6 hours before departure.
