VietJet Launches Bangkok, Chiang Rai Flights to Udon Thani

VietJet Air is bullish about its business in Thailand, as it launched two new direct flights within the country.

VietJet said on November 4, Monday that it will launch on November 25 direct flights between Udon Thani and Bangkok through Suvaranabhumi Airport as well as flights between Chiang Rai Airport and Udon Thani Airport.

VietJet will fly daily between Udon Thani and Bangkok in the morning, with the aircraft departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 7:20 am and arriving at Udon Thani at 8:30 am.

On the other hand, thrice-a-week flights will be held between the two points - every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays - with the aircraft departing from Bangkok at 4:25 pm and arriving at Udon Thani at 5:35 pm.

Meanwhile, VietJet said it will have a frequency of three days per week between Chiang Rai and Udon Thani - every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday - beginning November 26. The first flight will leave Udon Thani at 6:05 pm and will arrive at Chiang Rai at 7:10 pm.

During the launching ceremony, Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc lauded VietJet, saying he was impressed by the airline’s exceptional efforts to improve its business.

“The carrier has also simultaneously built and developed Thai Vietjet successfully. Those activities really contribute positively to the economic, trade, cultural and tourism exchanges between Vietnam and Thailand,” he said.

“May I wish Vietjet a great success ahead and hope the airline will transport more and more tourists from Vietnam and the region to Thailand and vice versa,” he added.

For his part, Thai Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said: “The two cities of Chiang Rai and Udon Thani that Vietjet has chosen are tourist destinations not only for Thai but also foreign travellers.”

“The new routes will surely contribute to the transportation and cooperation between the two countries of Thailand and Vietnam,” he added.
