Thai-based budget airline NokScoot has implemented the H1-Air product by Hahn Air Systems, which will give the LCC access to HR-169 ticketing in all major Global Distribution Systems (GDS) across the world under the H1 reservation code.
The joint venture of Thailand’s Nok Air and Singaporean Scoot signed an interline agreement with Hahn Air Systems earlier this year.
NokScoot is now available in the Amadeus Abacus/Sabre and Travelsky GDSs under the XW code.
Thanks to the partnership with Hahn Air, NokScoot will be able to use a full suite of its services. Including HR-169 ticketing, fare filing, inventory management, settlements, messaging and scheduling. In addition, this will also aid NokScoot in reaching more than 100,000 travel agencies in over 190 markets across the globe.
NokScoot is the 15th airline so far to partner with Hahn Air Group and use its products.
Hahn Air Systems is a global consolidation service whose goal is to connect carriers, rail and shuttle providers regardless of the business model (low-cost, full-service…) to all major GDS providers worldwide. Hahn Air Systems is fully owned by the Hahn Air Group and is a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Its main product H1-Air was launched in 2012 and basically allows airlines with no or limited GDS connections to use the H1 reservation code for booking with over 100,000 travel agencies in 190 markets. It partners with over 300 airlines, rail and shuttle providers.
Speaking about the new partnership, NokScoot Chief Executive Officer Yodchai Sudhidhanakul said:
As our route network expands, we need to offer a ticketing possibility to travel agents who book traditionally via GDSs. Choosing Hahn Air Systems’ product helps us provide a seamless and cost-efficient solution that ensures our routes are available in all major GDSs worldwide.
Head of Hahn Air Systems Alexander Proschka said:
We are thrilled that NokScoot decided to take its indirect distribution to the next level by combining the two products of the Hahn Air Group. While selling tickets under its own XW designator in its BSP markets, Nokscoot can now rely on H1 for distribution in all of its non-BSP markets and in additional GDSs. By increasing its GDS visibility, the H1-Air partnership will ultimately help the airline to reach new customers and tap into additional revenue streams.
NokScoot, which started operations in 2014, uses Don Muang International Airport as its hub and offers low cost carrier services on medium-to-long haul flights. Its destinations include Chinese cities Dalian, Nanjing, Shenyang, Taipei, Tianjin and Tsingtao among others.
A global distribution system is a computerized network system operated or owned by a third-party company that enables transactions between travel industry service providers such as airlines and travel agencies.
