Thai AirAsia Introduces New Route to Laos, Increases Khon Kaen Connectivity

Thai AirAsia has become the first budget airline to connect Thailand’s capital Bangkok with the capital of Laos Vientiane as it has introduced a new route between the two cities. Bangkok-Vientiane flights will officially start on 1st July, 2016.
Thai AirAsia Director of Commercial Santisuk Klongchaiya said:
AirAsia becoming the first low cost airline to connect Thailand and Lao PDR means easier and more convenient travel for all. We have seen our customer base in the segment expand rapidly, both among tourists and entrepreneurs. With Vientiane being the financial center of Lao PDR and a key destination for trade, we are sure many Thai businesses will see the easier, more cost effective travel to the city as a boon. At the same time, we hope to attract many Laotian travelers to Thailand by offering them a direct route to the Kingdom.
The new route is scheduled to leave Don Muang International Airport in Bangkok every day at 12:05 PM and land at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane at 13:25 PM. Return flights will take off from Wattay at 14:15 PM and land on the runway in Don Muang at 15:35 PM.
TAA offers promotional fares for the new route starting at 990 baht (US$28.30) in one way. These are available for booking from today until 8th May, 2016 and can be used during the period between 1st July this year and 22nd May the following year.
Thai AirAsia is the first low-cost carrier to be allowed to fly both Vientiane and Luang Prabang.
TAA Increases Connectivity to Khon Kaen
Meanwhile, Thai AirAsia has also announced two new daily flights that will boost connectivity to Khon Kaen. Starting from 28th April, TAA passengers can travel from Chiang Mai to Khon Kaen and from Hat Yai to Khon Kaen directly. The airline will use Airbus A320, 180-seat aircraft.
Thai AirAsia also operates flights from Bangkok to Khon Kaen and back.
Flights from Chiang Mai will depart the city every day at 7:00 in the morning and will arrive in Khon Kaen an hour and 10 minutes later (8:10 AM). Return flights will take off from Khon Kaen’s airport at 14:20 PM and arrive in Chiang Mai at 15:40 PM.
Hat Yai flights will leave the city’s airport in Khon Kaen at 9:20 AM and arrive in Hat Yai two hours later at 11:20 AM. The return flight will leave half an hour later from Hat Yai at 11:50 AM and arrive in Khon Kaen at 13:50 PM.
