Korean Air resum Seoul to Chiang Mai and Phuket services

Korean Air started two direct services to Thailand on October 1. The airline resumed operations between Seoul and Chiang Mai and Phuket, which had been interrupted due to the COVID-19 epidemic, in March 2020. In August, the national airline of South Korea said that the popular routes would be coming back.

Flights leave Seoul Incheon for Phuket at 5.55 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and arrive in Phuket at 10 p.m.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, flights from Phuket to Seoul leave at 11:20pm and arrive at 7:55am the following morning at Seoul Incheon.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, a Boeing 737-800 will operate the Seoul to Chiang Mai route, which leaves Seoul Incheon at 5:55pm and arrives in Chiang Mai at 9:30pm.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, flights from Chiang Mai to Seoul will leave at 11pm and arrive in Seoul at 6:25am the following morning.

Tickets in economy class from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket to Seoul start at 14,250 Baht one-way. Tickets are available for purchase on the Korean Air website.

Be careful to have all of your paperwork in order before travelling, since South Korea's famously stringent border patrol is inclined to deny entry. When booking a tour, be careful to do it through a reputable agency.

In August, 110 Thai visitors on a single aircraft were refused admission to the island of Jeju in South Korea and returned to Thailand. There may be as many as 140,000 Thais working illegally in South Korea, sometimes known as "little ghosts."

Last month, Milli, a well-known Thai rapper, was refused entrance into South Korea, causing her to cancel her appearance at the Hiphoppplaya Festival in Seoul.
