A proposed rail link between Don Muang, Suvarnabhumi and U-Tapao airports has been confirmed to be built.

Following several delays, the contract for the project is due to be signed by the company owning the contractors, Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group on October 25th. This follows the entire board of members of the State Railway of Thailand being replaced with new members who will sign the deal.

"We expect to sign the contract for the high-speed railway project on Oct 25 as things are expected to be settled by that time," said Suphachai Chearavanont, chief executive of CP Group who will be responsible for the project.

CP Group won the bid for the contract last year by submitting the lowest proposal, but since then problems with handing over the land to the conglomerate have slowed things down.
