Bangkok Airways Wins “World’s Best Regional Airline” and “Asia’s Best Regional Airline”

Bangkok Airways walked out of Farnborough International Airshow with two prizes from this year’s Skytrax Airline Awards as the airline won the “World’s Best Regional Airline” and the “Asia’s Best Regional Airline” for this year.
Capt. Puttipong Prasattong-Osoth Received the Awards for His Company
Receiving the two coveted awards in the name of this company was Captain Puttipong Prasattong-Osoth, who flew to the Skyview Hall in London for this occasion.
The President of Bangkok Airways said the following upon receiving the awards for the world’s and Asia’s best regional airline:
As a Thai national carrier, we are extremely delighted and proud to have received the awards which truly reflect a higher level of service and safety standard of Bangkok Airways. These achievements have fully manifested our continuous commitment to strive for excellence in airline services. It is not only served as a proof of passenger’s recognition, but also a great encouragement to motivate us to attain even better performance.
Capt. Prasattong-Osoth further added:
On behalf of everyone at Bangkok Airways, I would like to thank all the voters and most importantly – the dedication of our staff to excel in a complete airline service. We promise to keep up with our services to provide the highest standard to underline our commitment to be Asia’s Boutique Airline.
Not the First Time for Bangkok Airways to Win These Awards
This is the second time for Bangkok Airways to win both “World’s Best Regional Airline” at the Skytrax Airline Awards, as the airline did so in 2014. In addition, Thailand national carrier was also named the “Best Regional Airline” for Asia in 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 and in 2014. Finally, “Asia’s Boutique Airline” has also won “South East Asia Best Regional Airline” in 2006 and in 2007.
Skytrax Airline Awards are considered one of the most coveted in the aviation industry. The winners are decided based on the votes each airline receives from customers across the world in a number of categories. Travelers take a survey at the Skytrax website to decide which airline(s) representatives will walk out of the gala with a prize or two and bragging rights.
This year, Skytrax award for the “World’s Best Airline” went to Emirates, while another Thailand carrier – Thai Airways was named the “World’s Most Improved Airline” in the last 12 months.
