The Thai carrier has revealed the launch of a new non-stop service to Da Nang, Vietnam. Bangkok Airways will operate the route four times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Commenting on the opening of the new route, Bangkok Airways President Puttipong Prasattong Osoth said:
Bangkok Airways is pleased to offer this new service to Da Nang. We consider Da Nang as one of our strategic flying hubs in the South East Asia region. Da Nang is the third largest city and a major port in Vietnam. The city is situated on the Easter Sea and is close to UNESCO World heritage sites, including the old town of Hoi An and the imperial capital of Hue, making Da Nang a popular vacationing spot for tourists who are looking to explore the attractions of central Vietnam.
He continued:
We consider this to be another milestone for us and this will make Bangkok Airways the only scheduled to fly to Da Nang from Thailand. We anticipate that the majority of our passengers will be businessmen and tourists from the two countries. Moreover, having a link to the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang will make it easier for our passengers traveling aboard our codeshare partner airlines from around the world to connect to Hoi An and Hue and the major gateways Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr Puttipong finished by saying:
We are confident that with our strong reputation of offering a boutique flying experience for our passengers, Bangkok Airways will be the leading player in this market.
Flights from Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok will depart at 11:00 AM and will land at Da Nang International Airport at 12:35 PM. The returning flight will take off from Da Nang an hour later at 13:35 PM and will arrive at Suvarnabhumi at 15:55 PM.
Bangkok Airways has also penned a new codeshare deal, this time with Austrian Airlines. According to the agreement, Austrian Airlines customers can now book flights to Thailand and Cambodia directly.
At the same time, the Austrian carrier has expanded its existing codeshare partnership with another Thailand carrier – Thai Airways International (THAI), which will now include more frequencies between Australia and Thailand. Austrian Airlines and THAI are both members of the Star Alliance.
Speaking about the new codeshare with the Austrian Airlines, Bangkok Airways President said:
This new codeshare agreement with Austrian Airlines is yet another important milestone and an exciting development in the continued growth of Bangkok Airways. It allows us to give customers of Austrian Airlines convenient and seamless access to Thailand and Cambodia’s popular destinations through this partnership.
The Austrian carrier operates daily non-stop flights between Vienna and Bangkok.
