Krabi Named One of the Premier Tourists Destinationsin Thailand

Over the past few years, Krabi has been gaining ground as one of the top destinations for tourists from all over the world. Even with the rising number of tourists visiting the province, it still retains much of its traditional Thai charm with the miles of coastlines still relatively untouched by development.
Hotel occupancy rates average around 95 percent according to the Thai tourism authority which has realized that Krabi is quickly becoming one of the most important attractions in Thailand and projects visits to increase steadily over the next few years as evidenced by the rising number of hotel bookings made with local accommodation providers.
Airlines have also started to increase their capacity to and from Krabi with Malaysian Airlines, Air Asia and Nok Air all starting new flights to the Krabi International Airport. The airport itself has been renovated from 2003 to 2005 and the infrastructure modified to allow for the increased volume of flights to and from the area. A 24 hour operational airport, the facility is important in keeping the tourist trade in the area running smoothly and to accommodate the rising number of visitors to the area.
The rise in visits to the province is hardly a surprise with its spectacular beaches that are great for visitors looking to take a break from their hectic schedules and just spend some days sunbathing or those looking for a romantic getaway to a idyllic setting to watch the sun go down over some pristine scenery. For the more adventurous, there are several trails through the untouched forests in the area to trek through and the chance to go rock climbing.
Snorkeling and diving opportunities are also abound with a chance to gaze upon the teeming marine life in the Andaman Sea.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has taken the rise in visitor numbers to the region as an extremely encouraging sign and plans to increase its efforts to draw more visitors to the area and also to help provide a more enjoyable and hassle free experience for all visitors.
