With local residents armed with brooms and brushes the streets of Bangkok are returning to normal after the red shirts finally left the city just a few days ago.
As Bangkok's municipal authorities called for help from volunteers to help clean up the city the carcass of Thailand's leading lifestyle shopping destination remains closed and a reminder of the past weeks.
Although the crisis has badly injured Thailand's image with a growth target of about 7 percent for this year cut down to a third, it seems unlikely to derail the country's flourishing economy and tourism officials are optimistic Thailand will bounce back.
