Ubon Ratchathani Airport is a domestic flight hub located in Ubon Ratchathani province in Thailand. It accommodates commercial flights while subsequently serving as a Royal Thai Air Force base.
The airport connects passengers to Bangkok (via Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports) as well as to Chiang Mai province.
There are four carriers serving the airfield, namely Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air, and Thai Smile.
Despite being only a domestic airport, Ubon Ratchathani Airport is one of the most used airports in Thailand, having accommodated as much as 1.79 million passengers last year.
Ubon Ratchathani Airport has two taxi counters at the arrivals hall where ticket coupons are sold. A coupon to the Ubon Ratchathani city center costs around 100 baht.
Passengers arriving at Ubon Ratchathani Airport can opt to take car rental services as soon as they arrive. Among the companies offering services are Hertz, Avis, National, Budget, Bizcar Rental, and Thai Rent A Car.
The airport is equipped with modest facilities for passengers’ convenience such as airlines’ sales counters, waiting area, retail and souvenir shops, two coffee shops namely Black Canyon Coffee and Quickly Coffee, snack stalls, ATMs, toilets, and a post office.
