TAAX CEO: Bangkok-Muscat Will be Popular Among both Thais and Omanis

Nadda Buranasiri, Chief Executive Officer of Thai AirAsia X had this to say about the start of Bangkok-Muscat service:

Muscat is a long-anticipated destination for our customers and with the great support we have received from our partners in Oman and from Muscat International Airport, we are sure this new route will prove to be popular among both Thai and Omani travelers, especially with our low fares. Omani passengers can now connect from Bangkok to destinations across Thailand and the region using AirAsia’s extensive network straight from Don Muang Airport.

General Manager for commercial operations and acting GM of the Muscat International Airport Sheikh Samer bin Ahmed al Nabhani said:

Introducing new routes, new airlines and new destinations is part of the strategic vision of the government to capitalize on the paradigm shift taking place in the transport sector, which supports the push toward economic diversification.

He added:

At Muscat International Airport, we strive to facilitate procedures for airline carriers wishing to launch new routes through the airport. This will result in many benefits including the promotion of Oman as one of the most attractive tourism destinations in the region and announcing events and conferences in Oman which in turn will contribute to bringing more visitors from around the world to Oman.
