Thai AirAsia (TAA) joined forces this Thursday with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to name the victors of the “Spice up the Sky with Thai Design” competition. Both designs will be featured on the two Thai AirAsia Airbus A320-200s flying internationally and in Thailand by the end of the year.
Director of Engineering at Thai AirAsia Banyat Hansakul congratulated the winners and confirmed their designs will be painted on the two TAA’s A320-200s by the end of 2016.
The winner of the “Amazing Thailand - Amazing Culture theme was Narathip Paspirom, who managed to perfectly showcase the country’s liveliness with his “Thai Culture, Have a Visit” theme.
On the other side, winning the “Amazing Thailand – Amazing Destination” theme was Cherdsak Moeykanmak with a design entitled “Yak Cute”, which can be directly translated as “Cute Giant”. Mr Moeykanmak did well to present the exceptional architecture of Thailand by including the famous Wat Arun and Wat Pho giants in his design, but also the friendly and affable nature of Thais and their willingness to welcome visitors with open arms and make them feel at home.
Speaking about the competition, Sugree Sithivanich, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications at TAT said that TAT and TAA wanted the “Spice up the Sky with Thai Design” to be a competition that promotes creativity in Thais, but would also attract foreign visitors to come to Thailand and experience what the country and its people have to offer. He also explained that the idea for the competition came from the understanding that Thais want to invite foreign guests to their country.
Thai AirAsia has also rewarded the two winners with 50,000THB each, as well as free tickets they can use on any AirAsia route within 1 year. Apart from Narathip Paspirom and Cherdsak Moeykanmak, the runner-ups have also walked home with 20,000THB and free tickets they can use within six months. The “Popular Vote” winner has also been rewarded with and E-Voucher they can redeem for two seats with AirAsia.
TAA and TAT have also invited all those traveling on one of the planes that feature these designs to take a photo and share it on Facebook, Instagram or other social media and thus promote Thailand and its creative people.
