Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation of India, opened the new Pune route, saying, "The opening of this new route is an important step toward making Pune more connected to the rest of the world. Soon, there will be a new service connecting Pune to Singapore."

"We have been working hard to make Pune's airport world-class. A new terminal building is being built and should be done by next year. A new international cargo terminal is also being built, as is an integrated cargo terminal. A multi-level parking structure has been finished and is being tested."

By December 2024, the new terminal at Pune Airport is anticipated to be completed.

In August, Vistara Airlines began offering five weekly nonstop flights between Mumbai, India, and Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport. Additionally, the airline offers direct flights between Bangkok and Delhi.
