Passengers of Bangkok Airways and Emirates are now eligible to spend rewards and fly free to both airlines’ various destinations.
This came after the two companies on Thursday announced that they have expanded a codeshare agreement to include the frequent flyers’ programs in their partnership.
Under the deal, members of Bangkok Airways’ FlyerBonus program and Emirates’ Skywards program may now earn points through flying with any of them, and likewise spend rewards and fly to their various destinations.
“Emirates Skywards is 25 million members strong and growing by the day. We constantly and proactively evaluate opportunities to ensure our program and our products add value and enrich the lives of our diverse membership base that is drawn from 180 countries,” said Nejib Ben Kheder, Divisional Senior Vice President Skywards for Emirates.
“Our alignment with FlyerBonus complements Emirates’ codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways, helping our members enjoy unique rewards offered in both programs and enhancing their travel experiences,” he added.
Emirates flies to 143 destinations which can be availed by FlyBonus members - 47 of which are in Europe, 27 are in Africa, 22 in the United States, 15 in the Middle East, and the rest in Asia.
Meanwhile, Skywards’ members will be eligible to visit various destinations in Thailand, as well as other Southeast Asian destinations including Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia through their rewards.
