Airlines across Southeast Asia are on alert following a security notice issued by Britain's Home Office for the possible exit of Edward Snowden on his way out to the United Kingdom.

Airports across Thailand are already on alert for the identity of Snowden on any UK-bound flights as he will be denied entry to the United Kingdom.

On Friday, the Associated Press published a photo of a 'carrier alert' on the Home Office's letterhead reportedly taken at the northern Thailand's Chiang Mai airport which was also confirmed by a British diplomat as authentic.

The diplomat confirmed to the media that their office in Thailand received the alert notice and subsequently issued it across the country.

She (British diplomat) revealed that the security notice was labeled 'message from UK border.' The message clearly instructed the office to prevent him from boarding any flights bound for the United Kingdom.

A spokeswoman from Malaysian Airlines, confirmed to the media that their office also received similar notice issued by Britain's Home Office, asking them to bar Snowden to board any UK-bound flights.

Snowden has become a fugitive after the United States launched global a manhunt after he exposed to the global media how the US National Security Agency carry its electronic surveillance program.

US Attorney General Eric Holder confidently said on Friday last week that Snowden would definitely be put to trial for his deeds.

Edward Snowden is an American who used to work with the CIA as a technical contractor for the National Security Agency. The global manhunt was launched after he leaked details to the press of classified NSA mass surveillance programs.

According to several media reports, his whereabouts is believed to be in Hong Kong. If Hong Kong and the United States have extradition treaty, there is a possibility that he will get deported back to the US.

He, however, vowed to fight any attempt to extradite him.

Julian Assange, another fugitive, remarked that UK obviously doesn't want another Assange in its turf. He issued the statement in his reaction to the country's effort to bar Snowden's entry.

Julian Assange is the founder of Wikileaks which publishes classified media mostly from unknown news sources and whistleblowers, as well as news leaks and submissions of secret information.

He has been a fugitive since 2010 for similar offense against the United States.

According to him, Snowden doesn't deserve to be treated as a criminal. He even considered him (Snowden) a hero for his action instead of being branded as a criminal.

He even proposed to the UK government to offer asylum to Snowden instead.

Assange, himself, has been holed up in an Ecuadorian embassy in London since June 2012 after the Swedish issued arrest warrant against him for a different offense, sexual assault.
