Services to and from Bangkok via Thai AirAsia has been temporarily suspended from 27 July to 29 July to allow the airline more time in their preparation for its transfer of operations from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the old Don Mueang International Airport which will take place on October 1 this year.
During the 3-day suspension period, the airline will undergo an airport code switch from 2200 hours of July 27 until July 29, same time, Thailand local time (GMT+7).
The airline will suspend all its ticketing activities for flights into and out of Bangkok (flights scheduled to leave from October 1, 2012 and beyond) during the three-day period through any means, either online or otherwise. That includes travel consultants, travel agents and airport sales offices. Moreover, they wouldn't be able to use the airline's online facility specifically the Manage My Booking as well as their web check-in services.
Clients are advised that only those Thai AirAsia flights into and out of Bangkok airport are affected by the suspension. All other Thai AirAsia flights outside Bangkok remain unaffected as well as those flights before October 1, 2012. If you wish to change or modify your booked flights that depart on October 1 and beyond shall do it outside of the 3-day period.
Thai AirAsia will provide an updated travel itinerary to all its guests who travel to and from Bangkok on or after October 1, 2012 as soon as the new airport code takes effect. The airport code for Don Mueang Airport is DMK. Those who were able to check in online for their flights into and out of Bangkok this early will have to do it again, only if their flights will depart on or after October 1, 2012.
