According to the airline's Executive Vice President for Products & Customer Services, Mr. Danuj Bunnag, they are continually reinventing their products and services to offer something new and exciting to their customers.
The new contemporary design is said to be uniquely Thai in character and overall look which perfectly complements the state-of-the-art technology features of the aircraft's interior.
The airline tapped the expertise of Priestmangoode, a UK-based global travel and transport design consultancy, to conceptualize on the interior design of all classes of the aircraft's passenger cabin.
The contemporary concept uses wood materials as motif which gives passengers a warm and relaxing atmosphere inside the cabin. The natural feel of the wood is complemented further by the extensive use of Thai silk as decorations, the application of a 'kanok' Thai design and the distinctive Royal Silk Class with its purple seat upholstery that evokes comfort and sense of privacy in every way.
The combination of orange and purple colors in economy class seats will definitely set the mood of the passengers to relax and enjoy a comfortable ride of their life.
The passengers in the Royal Silk Class will also be able to enjoy optimum comfort and style with the airline's advanced technology features which make their flight with THAI a new and unforgettable experience. Among these advanced technology features include seat function control unit which allows passengers to move their seat in all angles and an automatic sensor faucet.
All cabin classes are installed with eX2, a modern inflight entertainment feature that offers international movie and music choices for total enjoyment. International movies come in a variety of languages which include English, Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Thai.
The airline said that the contemporary concept for the aircraft's interior is designed to give its passengers maximum comfort and improved service aboard long-haul flights.
The newly-acquired wide-body twin engine aircraft B777-300ER will be the first aircraft to sport the new design of its interior. The aircraft is configured to seat 348 passengers across two classes: 42 in Royal Silk Class and 306 in economy class. Passengers bound for Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo (all in Europe), Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore (Asia) as well as Los Angeles in mainland USA will be the first to fly with the aircraft sporting the new interior design.
The Royal Silk Class inside the new aircraft comes equipped with 20-inch seat width, each fitted with 16-inch screen and audio-visual on demand (AVOD) eX2 system that streams movies, documentaries, music and games for total inflight entertainment on board. The economy class, meanwhile, features 18-inch seat width whose pitch is 32 inches. Each economy seat also features a 10.6-inch screen that offers the same inflight entertainment as Royal Silk Class.
