Starting on the first day of December 2015, Nok Air will be seen flying to and from Hanoi, Vietnam's cultural capital and second biggest city.

This is going to be Nok Air's second flight destination to Vietnam. The first is Ho Chi Minh, touted as the country's biggest and most populated city.

It took seven years for Nok Air to fly once again to Vietnam but the airline is positive that adding Hanoi to its Vietnam route will re-establish its presence in the socialist country's famous cities.

This additional flight will also open doors to more flight bookings especially with the APEC Summit scheduled in November this year.

Nok Air is aware that other players would also attempt to gain a strong foothold in the region thus, it expects competition to be more fierce.

About seven years ago, Nok Air cancelled Bangalore and Hanoi from its flight destinations as operations on these regions proved to be unprofitable.

Meanwhile, flights to Ho Chi Minh has been in Nok Air's agenda for years but the actual launch was sidelined because it prioritized domestic routes which, at that time, had a stronger market.

According to some sources, the airline will fly four times a week during the re-launch of the Hanoi flight route. The same goes for the Ho Chi Minh flights, once it is launched this month.

Nok Air passengers can avail of the airline's promo fare of 999 baht for a one-way ticket to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh.

Early this year, Nok Air launched international flight services to China, particularly Hefei and Yangon.

Additional flights to Buri Ram province is also planned this month using its Q400 turboprops. According to the airline, a lot of travelers are booking for these flights.

Presently, Nok Air operates 19 Boeing 737-800s for both its domestic and international flights.
