Fights in the island of Koh samui continue to be cancelled today, Tuesday 29th March 2011, due to flooding from heavy rain.
Yesterday (Monday 28th March), 36 domestic and international flights were cancelled up to 6pm. The cancelation of ferries has left people stranded on the island.
It was reported that roads in the tourist areas of Chaweng and Bophut are submerged in nearly a meter high flood waters.
The Thai Meteorological Dept have predicted prolonged rainfall until Wednesday.
Staff at the airlines have not been able to give renewed departure times for those stranded and the bad weather continues. However, Bangkok Airways have said that passengers with international connections will be prioritized.
