Etihad, the state flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, continues to build its global route network with the addition of Phuket, one of Thailand's popular tourist destinations.

Starting October this year, Etihad will launch its daily services on the Abu Dhabi-Phuket route, its second route to Thailand. Phuket, which lies in southwestern Thailand, is a major and popular tourist destination in the whole Southeast Asian region.

The airline will serve the route utilizing its medium-range wide-body A330-200 aircraft configured in a two-class layout featuring 22 Pearl Business seats and 240 seats for its Coral Economy cabin.

Etihad's current network in Southeast Asia includes the region's major capitals such as Bangkok (Thailand), Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), Jakarta (Indonesia), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Manila (the Philippines) and Singapore.

The Phuket route will provide easy access for UAE travelers to one of the region's most popular resort destinations.

Future destinations that will soon join Etihad's expanding global route network this year include Jaipur, Los Angeles, Zurich, Yerevan, Rome, Perth and Dallas.
