Emirates passengers visiting Phuket from Dubai will have more flight schedules to choose from. Starting December 1, the airline will be adding four more weekly flight routes to the popular Thai destination.

These new flights are expected to enhance connectivity to a host of cities in the Middle East and Europe where Emirates regularly flies.

Emirates first flew to Phuket in 2012. Since then it has continued to transport a growing number of passengers to said destination. According to Emirates' EVP/COO Thierry Antinori, the growth of Emirates passengers frequenting the city has encouraged the airline to launch four more weekly flights.

The CEO added that these new flights will be a boon for tourists wanting to spend as much time in the island. Flight schedules were structured in such a way that arrivals to Phuket would happen in the earlier part of the day.

For instance, a 10:55pm flight from Dubai based on Dubai time allows Emirates' passengers to reach Phuket International Airport the next morning at 8am, Phuket time.

Through the years, Phuket has gained popularity as a tourist spot. From January to May of 2015 alone, a total of six million tourists have visited the island which boasts of a string of white sand beaches. From Phuket, one can easily transfer to the Andaman Sea area for a great diving experience.

Moreover, it serves as access to other popular Thai destinations in the south including Trang, Khao Lak, and Koh Lipe, among others.

The airline will cover these additional flight services using its Boeing 777-300ERs. Passengers can choose from among 360 seats consisting of First Class (8), Business Class (42), and Economy Class (310).

Prior to Emirates' decision to add new flights, it has clinched a codesharing deal with Bangkok Airways (BA). By doing so, Emirates was able to add 14 more destinations in its network.

The above deal and the enhanced flights to Phuket have expanded travel options among Emirates clients wanting to visit the Southeast Asian region.

All passengers on board Emirates can access its entertainment system which offers over 2,000 channels available upon demand. There is also extra baggage allowance of 30 to 50 kilograms depending on the passenger's seat category. Those occupying First Class seats get a 50-kilogram baggage allowance.

Emirates conducts seven weekly flight services to Phuket but overall, it conducts over 40 weekly flight services to Bangkok.
