Don Mueang Airport Recovery in 3 Months

The Airports of Thailand (AoT) have announced that they expect that it will take 2-3 months to restore Don Muang Airport after the flood waters recede and the runways are completely dry.
The work is expected to cost around one billion baht.
Meanwhile, flood defenses at Suvarnabhumi International Airport are still in place and successfully holding back the waters. Authorities are confident that the airport is not at risk.
Tourists are being informed that flights to and from Suvarnabhumi are running as normal and they can travel to Thailand as normal despite the situation at Don Mueang.
Although tourists are now returning to Thailand, the current flood is estimated to have caused Thailand to lose around 15 billion baht in tourism revenue, with a two-per cent drop in tourist numbers, or about 300,000 arrivals.
