In an effort to strengthen its image as a premium airline brand, Bangkok Airways has decided to revive its practice of offering great-tasting gourmet food to its business class passengers. The privately-owned airline, which is known to use food as a means to please its passengers, has teamed up with two of Thailand's five star hotels: Chedi Chiang Mai and Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, to create a list of special in-flight menu.
A committee consisting of airline representatives and food critic Santi Svetavimala chose a total of 12 new menus, six from each hotel. These will be included in the airline's services for the business class, from July up to December.
The menu from the Chedi, which includes a selection of Indian, Thai, and Western cuisines, are scheduled for October to December flights. On the other hand, those from Four Seasons, which offers mainly Thai pastas and seafood, will be scheduled earlier, from July to September.
The dishes, which will be available on several routes to Dhaka and Male, will be prepared and served by Bangkok Air Catering, a catering firm managed by the Bangkok Airways.
