Just recently, Bangkok Airways announced that it will be offering flight services between Phuket and Hat Yai. The airline's top officials, travel agents, media representatives, and other special guests converged at Buri Sriphu Hotel in Hat Yai District to celebrate the launching.
Talking before his audience at the hotel's Thep-taro Ballroom, airline president, Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth said that both Phuket and Hat Yai are popular destinations not only among tourists travelling for leisure and relaxation but also among visitors flying in for business purposes.
He went on to say that Phuket is one of the top choice destinations among travellers because of its famous tourist spots. Hat Yai on the other hand is a key city in the south teeming with trade and commercial activity. In addition, one can easily access Singapore and Malaysia via Hat Yai.
He was pleased to note that this new route will help boost tourism as well as propel economic growth.
The airline will continue to fly its other regular routes to and from Phuket. These include the eight per day flight service between Phuket and Bangkok, the four per day flight between Phuket and Samui, and the once a day flights between Phuket and Chiang Mai as well as Phuket and U-tapao.
As soon as this new route commences on or about October 25, 2015, passengers will have more options when traveling via the airline's flight network.
Flights for this newly-opened route will be conducted four times a week every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The airline is also offering a price of 1,890 baht within a limited promo period.
Bangkok Airways will be using its ATR72-500/600, a twin turboprop aircraft produced by French-Italian manufacturer Avions de Transport Regional.
