This year has seen the number of Australians visiting Thailand rise by 18%.
Outside of south-east Asia, Australia provided the 4th highest number of foreign visitors to Thailand. Russia, Germany and the UK provide the most visitors.
By the end of May 2010 over 275,000 Australians visited Thailand, spending approximately AU$3.23 billion.
The number is expected to rise even further. Marketing chairman of the Thai Hotels Association Ms Suprawan Tanomkieatipume said that these figures would rise again soon once more Australian and European visitors flock to the country for the high seasons of June to July, and December to January.
