Low-cost airline AirAsia has just introduced the Phuket-Bali route scheduled four times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, marketing it as "from paradise to paradise".
AirAsia is the leading and largest low-cost carrier in Asia and was named 2009 and 2010 World's Best Low-Cost Airline.
Thai AirAsia's chief executive officer Tassapon Bijleveld said the company decided to add the new route in order to make travel more convenient for everyone and to stimulate tourism revenue and the local economy in Phuket.
AirAsia has offered special promotional rates for the new route start at 1,490 THB per way inclusive of airport tax.
Tassapon said Phuket and Bali attracted beach lovers and paradise seekers and the two destinations were also travel hubs that offered excellent connectivity to other parts of the world.
