The low-cost leader will start its daily service between the city state and Krabi on November 25 this year. The once-daily service was in response to the surging passenger demand between the two destinations. The additional Singapore-Krabi frequency will be followed by another once-daily service between Krabi and Chiang Mai a month later or on December 15, 2013.

Similarly, the budget carrier is also adding frequency, also on November 25, between Bangkok and Krabi, to eight times daily. According to Thai AirAsia CEO, Tassapon Bijleveld, the additional frequency between the resort town and two of the region's major capitals have long been considered as air travel demand has continued to grow year after year.

The airline CEO stated that travelers will have more options, thus more convenience, to take their flights between the resort town and several major tourist destinations in the region.

The additional frequencies at Krabi will give AirAsia the dominant operator from Krabi International Airport in terms of capacity. By then, it will have a combined 84 flights per week to Krabi from four major destinations in the region - Bangkok, Singapore, Chiang Mai and Kuala Lumpur.

Krabi hosts to a number of more renowned and world-class beach destinations in Thailand such as Railay Bay and Phi Phi Island.
