AirAsia Plane

Very soon, AirAsia will be flying to and from Pattaya and Kuala Lumpur, linking two of the most popular cities in Thailand and Malaysia, respectively.

Pattaya is one of the most frequently visited cities in Thailand, ranking second to Bangkok. In about a month or so, AirAsia will be conducting regular flights from Pattaya's U-Tapao Airport, linking this busy city to Asia's green capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Spencer Lee, Commercial Director of AirAsia is happy to note that the airline is by far the first to offer the Pattaya-Kuala Lumpur flight route.

By June or July, passengers can already fly to and from these two cities every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday through AirAsia. As this is a new offer, the airline has also come up with cheap promo fares.

The tourism industry in Pattaya was dampened by a slack in the number of visitors pouring in, particularly those coming from the Eastern European region.

AirAsia's new direct flight covering the Pattaya-Kuala Lumpur route will help revive the city's tourism sector as AirAsia's direct flights will also open doors to other non-Malaysian visitors availing of AirAsia's connecting flights.

Lee added that in 2014, AirAsia has served about 2 million passengers flying to Thailand and Malaysia. With this new flight route, management foresees a further expansion of its network while offering very reasonable fare rates to travellers.
