Travelling between Thailand and India is getting even easier now Air Asia have announced new routes between the 2 countries.
On December 1st, the low-cost carrier will introduce a daily flight from Bangkok to Kolkata. A Bangkok to New Delhi service will take off four times every week.
There are currently over 120 direct flights between Bangkok and major Indian cities operated by international airlines including Indian Airlines and Thai Airways International (THAI).
In addition, THAI has announced that it is to increase the frequency of flights on two routes for their winter timetable (October 31 - March 26). Their Bangkok to Kolkata service will increase from 5 to 7 flights per week and the Bangkok to Mumbai service will double to 14 flights per week.
In 2009, over 600,000 Indian travelers came to Thailand, resulting in over 16 billion baht income to the Kingdon. As of the the first eight months of 2010, Indian travelers to Thailand have increased by 20 percent year-on-year.
