Narathiwat Airport is a domestic airport owned and operated by the government which is serving Narathiwat, a province in Thailand that borders Malaysia. It strategically plays an important role in the province as it serves not only as a gateway but also the Thai military’s air force base.
At present, Narathiwat Airport handles flights from two airlines – Thai AirAsia and Thai Smile which connect passengers to Bangkok via Don Muang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport, respectively.
In some occasions, the airport accommodates international flights from Thai Airways to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj or the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.
Malaysia is only four kilometers away from the airport and due to its proximity, passengers going to Malaysia use Narathiwat airport as an alternative option.
Taxi cabs are available as you exit the airport. It can take you to the city center or to any of your desired destinations, even hotel.
Should you wish to transfer to Malaysia, minivans are found within the airport that could transfer you to Kuala Besut, or Malaysia’s border.
Narathiwat Airport has a food court that offers a wide array of dining options. It also has snack bars at the waiting area, and ticketing offices for airlines operating at the airport.
