Four new carriers are reportedly interested in starting operations in Thailand, according to an insider who spoke with the Thai news website Thansettakij. P80 Air, Really Cool Air, Landarch Airline, and Siam Seaplane are the four businesses. The insider also mentioned that obtaining aviation business licences would take some time. The four carriers are anticipated to receive approval to start operations in 2019.
The first step toward obtaining an air operating permit for performing standard flight services is to get an air operating licence (AOL). The rivalry in Thailand's aviation sector may grow in 2019 as four new carriers apply for licences.
The new airlines offer unique and new services, such as seaplanes, blockchain interaction with non-fungible tokens (NFTs), small hopper aircraft, and long-haul services.
Prayudh Mahagitsiri, the CEO of Thoresen Thai Agencies, is the owner of P80 Air Co. They are in charge of transportation firms and maritime shipping. To begin operations, the proprietor is anticipating spending about 2 billion baht.
The new carrier will provide contracted and scheduled trips using Boeing 787-800 aircraft. In its first year, it will hire four jets, and in the following four, it hopes to increase its inventory to 20. Their website mentions places like Hong Kong and Macau and Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang.
The P80 Air has advanced the most. The insider claims they have already filed for an aviation operating licence (AOL). The Thai Civil Aviation Authority is currently evaluating the proposal (CAAT).
Patee Sarasin, the previous CEO of Nok Air, owns Really Cool Air. Together, they created an innovative business by collaborating with cryptocurrency pioneers. Before becoming a long-haul carrier in the physical world, the company began as a game in the simulated world. Their website is jam-packed with current, trendy terms.
The first GameFi aircraft initiative created for users to earn, learn, play, and win is called Really Cool Air. Their staff comprises passionate professionals worldwide who are interested in fields like blockchain, GameFi, ecosystem management, cryptocurrency, NFTs, and more. Their goal is to launch a completely new airline in the real world, run by the native crypto residents of our Really Cool Air GameFi.
They should shortly submit an AOL application. The company will offer long-haul trips to Australia and Europe as a full-service aircraft. They are adopting modern technology.
In Thailand, M-Landarch Co. is already the authorised dealer for Cessna aircraft. They will manage Landarch Airline, covering gaps in Thailand's aeronautical infrastructure by operating short-haul flights using compact Cessna C208B planes.
The carrier will offer flights to other southern regions from Hat Yai. It will initially travel to Betong in Yala, Naratiwat, and Surat Thani to operate three daily trips to each. Flight durations on each path will be at most 60 minutes. They hope to provide options for most Thai aircraft departing from Bangkok, Phuket, or Chiang Mai.
Even though the plan is bold, it is unlikely to have a big effect on the business of the major airlines. There is a limit of 12 passengers per trip.
Last but not least, Siam Seaplane Co. will run its operations using a fleet of seaplanes to offer flying services to holiday spots on the water. The upscale carrier will provide fast and straightforward access to piers, beaches, and coastal accommodations.
The company promises to serve many clients, including tourists, families, and social organisations. However, they strive to provide VIP services for affluent travellers, top executives, and celebrities.
Initially, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, (CAAT) will likely authorise the aircraft to offer taxi services rather than complete route services until it is confident in its safety.
Four new airlines, including Siam Seaplane, Landarch Aviation, P80 Air, and Really Cool Air, will start flying in Thailand in 2019. This should make the market for air travel in Thailand more competitive.
These airlines offer unique options like long-distance travel, boat travel, and bitcoin integration with NFTs.
