To accommodate the November-to-March high season, airlines are increasing flights to and from Chiang Mai, Thailand's northernmost city.

The majority of foreign tourists visiting Chiang Mai will arrive in Bangkok first. Nirat Pongsitthavorn, the governor of Chiang Mai province, said that he has had negotiations with Nok Air about boosting flight frequencies from the capital to Chiang Mai.

Starting on November 1, the governor said that Nok Air would increase the number of daily flights between Bangkok and Chiang Mai from eight to an amazing twelve.

In November, direct flights between Seoul, South Korea and Chiang Mai, Thailand will operate four times a week. The number of weekly flights will climb to seven in December.

Lao Airlines offers two direct flights between Vientiane and Luang Prabang and Chiang Mai. Beginning November 1, both routes will operate three times weekly.

Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, seems to be the most popular destination for flights from Chiang Mai during the high season, with three airlines offering direct flights.

Beginning January 1, 2023, EVA Air will operate seven weekly flights between Taipei, Taiwan and Chiang Mai, Thailand with a 184-seat Airbus A320. People from Europe, the US, and Japan will come to Chiang Mai because of EVA Air's connecting flights.

Beginning January 20, 2023, China Airlines will provide three weekly flights between Taipei and Chiang Mai.

Thai AirAsia will soon offer direct flights between Taipei and Chiang Mai, according to reports.

During the high season, tourists may remain longer than normal in Thailand, since the country has legally granted lengthier stays to visitors. Thailand extends visa exemptions on arrival for up to 45 days and VOA (visa on arrival) for up to 30 days for visitors from qualified countries during the high season only.
