Thailand Tourist Gets Free Airfare From TAT

On June 13, Thai Airways (THAI), Airports of Thailand (AOT), and the Immigration Bureau in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) awarded airfare freebies to Thailand's 13 millionth visitor during the 'Thailand's Luckiest Visitor' event.

The said organisers awarded a round trip air ticket to Vietnamese, Vu Minh Phuong during ceremonies held on June 13 at the Suvarnabhumi Airport. Ms Vu Minh Phuong was Thailand's 13 millionth tourist on that date.

H.E. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Head of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports was present during the ceremony. During the event, he welcomed Ms. Phuong and likewise thanked the organizers - TAT, THAI, AOT, and Bureau of Immigration for their efforts towards ensuring that Thailand's visitors get to spend a memorable holiday in the country.

The 'Thailand's Luckiest Visitor' event is tied up with '2015 Discover Thainess' programme, the goal of which is to boost and expand tourism in Thailand.

TAT Acting Governor, Juthaporn Rerngronasa was also present during the event to thank organisers as well as tourists who continue to flock the country.

Thailand's tourism industry is expected to grow further in 2015. Statistics show that from January to May this year, more than 12 million tourists have flown to the country. This figure represents an almost 25% increase from last year's figures.

Aside from free round-trip economy tickets for two to Thailand, the lucky winner will also be entitled to free accommodations in Thailand for five nights on her succeeding trip. Validity period for both rewards will run for a year.
