Lion Air's two local subsidiaries, Malaysia-based Malindo Air and Thailand-based Thai Lion Air, have inked an inter-line agreement allowing both airlines to sell each other's tickets aside from their own.

The agreement will promote both airline's brands across their combined network, possibly expanding their respective market base.

Starting in the second week of December 2013, passengers from both airlines will be able to book tickets from either website at their choice without charges.

For example, if a passenger plans to travel to a final destination that involves two or more flights within the two airlines' combined network, he only needs to book at once through any of their respective websites. This kind of partnership enables passengers to transfer between flights seamlessly, allowing them to claim their baggage in their final destination.

Thai Lion Air is expected to commence flights from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur on December 18, 2013. This gives passengers from both directions flexible and smooth transfers between first and final destinations.

Malindo Air flies to major and popular tourist destinations across Malaysia including Alor Setar, Johor Bahru, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Penang, Sibu and Subang.

Thai travelers who want to spend their holidays in Malaysia will have easy access via Kuala Lumpur.

Thai Lion Air launched its inaugural service on December 8, 2013 with Bangkok-Chiang direct flight. It commenced commercial operation the next day with the launch of its first overseas route, Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur. Soon, it will launch another international routes out of Bangkok to Jakarta and Singapore.
