Airways International has announced that they will launch their low cost airline in April 2012.

The new arm of the business intends to regain market share lost to passengers using other low cost airlines.

The airline is still to be given a name, but suggestions given by Thai Air staff include: "Thai Silk", "Thai Wings" and "Thai Fly"

The new airline is expected to break even financially after 2-3 years, with a 70-80% passenger capacity

Both international and domestic flights will operate initially using 7 aircraft - increasing to 11 after 3 years.
