Thai AirAsia (TAA) is all set to commence flights to China's Nanchang and Nanning cities located in the country's southern portion. Taking off from U-Tapao airport, TAA directly flies to Nanchang every Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as Saturdays. Flights to Nanning are scheduled every Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
U-Tapao is TAA's fifth, latest flight hub on top of existing ones at Chiang Mai, Don Mueang, Krabi, and Phuket.
With Pattaya's popularity among tourists from China, TAA believes that the two newest flight routes will help boost the country's economy in the coming months.
In a recent media event attended by TAA officials and news journalists, TAA CEO Tassapon Bijleveld addressed the audience with excitement on the airline's newest flights between U-Tapao and Nanchang.
He believes that tourists from Thailand will be fascinated by what Nanchang has to offer, including famous attractions such as the giant Ferris wheel - one of the largest in the world, China's porcelain found in Jingdezhen, Lishan Mountain, and Wuyuan Village.
He added that Thai tourists will appreciate the affordability of ticket rates to Nanchang from U-Tapao especially if taking off from the east.
Tassapon mentioned that TAA chose U-Tapao airport as its fifth flight base because of Pattaya's growing popularity and the airport's capacity to take in such flights. TAA will continue to add more domestic and international routes to its list of flights from U-Tapao. To support this, it will soon acquire two more Airbuses.
A separate media event was also held to highlight the new U-Tapao to Nanning flight route. TAA officials headed by Director of Commercial, Santisuk Klongchaiya and various media groups were present.
During the event, Nanning's attractions and travel possibilities were highlighted including a visit to Guilin. The city can be reached either by bus, train, or air, if shorter travel time is preferred. Upon reaching the city, tourists can avail of the Lijiang River-Yangshuo cruise or sample the city's Guilin dumplings and rice noodles.
TAA is offering special promo fares from 990 baht and up for the two new flight routes. The offer is valid until Saturday, September 6, 2016 and applies to flights to Nanning between September 25, 2105 and August 31, 2016 as well as to travels to Nanchang between September 26, 2015 and August 31, 2016.
