In an effort to promote equal opportunities for '3rd gender' people, a newly formed Airline, PC Airlines has hired 6 transsexuals as flight attendants.
According to President, Peter Chan, more than 100 transsexuals applied for the coveted positions with airlines, and more are expected to be hired: "I think these people can have many careers, not just in the entertainment business, and many of them have a dream to be an air hostess. I just made their dream come true. Our society has changed. It's evolution. I'm a pioneer and I'm sure there will be other organisations following my idea.'
Also known as 'katoys', these new employees will wear a special gold "third sex" nametag to help travelers, immigration and airline employees identify what gender they are, according to Nation."
PC Airlines are planning to start operating with schedules flights from Bangkok to South Korea by April 2011.
