Krabi, a popular tourist destination in Thailand, will soon be a flight away from both Subang and Penang in Malaysia, courtesy of Malindo Air.

Starting in the middle of September this year, Malindo Air will be launching two flights, the Penang-Krabi and Subang-Krabi routes.

According to an airline official, Krabi route will be Malindo Air's first international service out of Penang and second for Subang. At present, the airline is flying to Batam in Indonesia, its sole overseas route out of Subang.

The airline's CEO, Chandran Rama Muthy, was quoted as saying that they are planning to add more routes in the next few months as soon as they take delivery of more aircraft that they ordered.

To prepare its launch, the hybrid carrier is already accepting bookings online for the said routes.

They offer heavily-discounted promo fares which start from as low as RM149 for the Penang-Krabi route and RM179 for its Subang-Krabi route. The price already includes airport taxes, light refreshments on board, the use of aerobridge and a free baggage allowance.
