Due to the growing travel demand between the city state of Singapore and the Thai capital, Jetstar Asia is augmenting its weekly schedule on the route starting July 8, 2013.
The route is popular to travelers who are on leisure and business. The additional frequency will mean that the budget airline will now serve the route with up to five times a day. This will also mean an additional capacity of 2,800 seats per week between the region's popular top tourist destinations.
According to Barathan Pasupathi, the low-cost carrier's Chief Executive Officer, Bangkok or Thailand, for that matter, continues to be one of their most important markets in the Southeast Asian region.
He further added that the surging demand in leisure and business travel sectors between the two routes has prompted the airline to increase capacity. The increasing demand must be due to the budget airline's low fares and their convenient flight schedules.
The budget carrier carried 30% more passengers in 2012 than the preceding year on its Singapore-Bangkok route with more than two million.
The airline's CEO was very ecstatic about the increased frequency between the Land of Smiles and the city state which will offer their customers more options and better connectivity within Jetstar's extensive regional network.
The additional frequency will see Jetstar doing 106 flights per week from its hub in Singapore to the Thai capital. The airline is also increasing its services from Sydney and Singapore to Thailand's most popular resort island of Phuket and more frequency on its Melbourne-Bangkok and Singapore-Bangkok routes.
A one-way Economy Starter fares on its Singapore-Bangkok start from as low as S$114 or 2,699 baht.
