Hua Hin is Nok Airs New Target

3rd Oct 2013

AirAsia Plane

Beginning November 15, Nok Air will launch flights from its hub in Don Mueang to the resort town of Hua Hin. The move is meant to boost the airline's domestic operations.

Nok Air would be the first budget airline to provide flights to the town-resort, which has long been popular among local holidaymakers and now, with foreign tourists. This new route will make use of a Saab 340B Turbopop.

The flights will be scheduled on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, leaving Don Mueang at 7.15pm and departing from Hua Hin at 8.10pm. Hua Hin is the newest feeder route in Nok Air's plan to provide service to small cities that are often overlooked by larger airlines. The 30-minute flights are seen as an alternative to road travel, which takes up to 3 hours.

The proposed thrice-a-week schedule will be upgraded to daily flights if the demand is good.

Nok Air at present also provides flights to Chumphon and Ranong.
