Bangkok Airways to Improve Customer Service

stiff competition in the airline industry has prompted Bangkok Airways to enhance its service by investing in a technology that would take them ahead of the competition.

The recent signing of its renewed partnership with Sabre Airline Solutions for its continued use of the latter's SabreSonic System will mean a further improvement of its customer service in the long term. The airline struck a partnership with Sabre, almost ten years ago, in February 2003.

Prote Setsuwan, Bangkok Airways' VP for Marketing, admitted that their main priority is to enhance its customer service and secondly, increase revenues. They believe that an efficient airline retailing system will boost their chances of achieving their goal, thus the signing of a new deal with Sabre. He said that the SabreSonic System has been a technological breakthrough that delivers its promised capabilities in consistent to our goal. Special mention are its Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD) and ATPCO OC Optional Services, along with its various features such as shopping and reporting analytics, that they hope would help them attain robust growth.

SabreSonic Customer Sales and Service is touted as the only powerful points-of-sale and service solution today with a widespread use in the industry. Its system is said to have been built on a future-ready technology which is highly customizable, enabling airlines to device their own strategy to improve their customer service and, at the same time, increase their revenues.

Bangkok Airways is hopeful that the renewed partnership with Sabre and continued use of the system will further their competitive advantage over other airlines in the long run. It has been using the solution for the past nine years in their planning and marketing efforts as well as enterprise operations and they are very satisfied with its performance. The latest offerings integrated into the SabreSonic system allow customers to shop, reserve seats and airport check-in via mobile devices.

Theo Panagiotoulias, Sabre Airline Solutions VP for Asia Pacific, remarked that with the technologically-advance system, Bangkok Airways will go through another phase of enviable growth ahead.
