The honor is the result of the annual poll conducted by Smart Travel Asia for its annual 2013 Best in Travel. AirAsia got the latest accolade when it was voted by readers to the top spot in the 'Top 10 Budget Airlines' category.
Majority of the votes, or 70%, came from Asia while 15% each came from Europe and North America. Asian countries represented by readers who participated in the poll came from China, Japan, India, South Korea, Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and the Middle East.
