Thai Airways Waives Fees for More Routes

Thai Airways International Public Co. Ltd. and its subsidiary Thai Smile are waiving charges for more canceled flights amid the coronavirus scare.

The Thaiger reported on Wednesday that Thai Airways and Thai Smile will waive flight exchange fees for routes from Bangkok to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, China, and Italy.

The waived fees will be applied specifically for tickets to Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Sendai, Seoul, Pusan, Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Singapore, with travel dates until April 30, 2020.

Similarly, fees will be waived for flight changes on routes Bangkok to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Kunming, and Chengdu via Thai Airways; Thai Smile code-share tickets for Bangkok to Chongqing, Changsha or Zhengzhou; as well as Shenzhen Airlines code-share tickets for routes to Shenzhen from Bangkok or Phuket. Such tickets must have travel dates until April 30 to qualify for waived fees.

Passengers of Thai Airways for routes from Bangkok to Rome or Milan issued on or before February 25, and with travel dates until April 30, will be waived of change fees before their flight schedule until September 30.

Last week, Thai Airways had canceled flights to nine countries amid the dramatic drop in passenger volume over fears of the coronavirus.
