Thai Airways has marked another significant milestone when it got hold of its newest Boeing 777-300ER from manufacturer, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The recently delivered jet airliner is Thai Airway's 25th 777-300ER.
Delivery took place at Boeing's delivery center located in Everett, Washington.
Mr. Charamporn Jotikasthira, President of THAI shared that the airline's 25th 777 represents a milestone for the company. For about 20 years now, he said that THAI has been flying passengers through its various models of 777s, adding that the flexibility of these jetliners have contributed significantly to THAI's success story. He assured that the airline will continue to deliver the best possible service to passengers while pursuing long haul market expansion.
Apart from its 777-300ERs, THAI also boasts of having five 787 Dreamliners from among its fleet of jetliners.
Meanwhile, Boeing's SVP of Sales for India and Asia Pacific, Dinesh Keskar joined Mr. Charamporn in marking the event. He said Boeing values its relations with THAI. He added that the 777 model jetliners are known for promoting fuel efficiency. Moreover, it is built with class-A interiors.
He believes that the 777 model best serves THAI's requirements and will bring more success to the company.
Boeing's 777-300ER twin-aisle jetliner which can take on 386 passengers is by far the world's best in terms of cost efficiency and reliability. Top airlines, to include Emirates and United Airlines also rely on these jetliners for their long-haul flights.
Current price tag for each 777-300ER is pegged at around US$320 million.
